“When I broke my front tooth on Easter Sunday in 2005, I could not afford to have the tooth implanted and I could not find a dentist willing to take Care Credit. I spent the next 3 years going back and forth to the dentist having my partial repaired. In the end I had to have the tooth bonded to the two adjoining teeth. It was rather unsightly because it looked like I had bread or something stuck in my teeth so I began to cover my mouth when I smiled.
In December of 2007 I saw an advertisement seeking people interested in having their teeth implanted. I called your office straight away and asked if you accepted Care Credit-you did. I was ecstatic! Filling out the paper work was quick and painless. I was the finance department assisted me with patience and respect….that is something you don’t find too often these days when you have very little money to get the job done.
When I told you I was praying that my tooth could be fixed before my wedding in June you assured me we had plenty of time. You explained that I would have to come in for several visits for the process, but there was no need to worry. When the bond broke twice you and the staff were wonderful about “squeezing me in.”
When my tooth came back it was too dark. You noticed right away and sent it back all the while assuring me it would be in well before the wedding. I have to admit I was a little worried but when it arrived about a week before my scheduled appointment you told me to come in the next day. I was so excited. When I looked in the mirror at my new tooth I cried. I hadn’t seen my smile in years and I was so glad to have it back. I was so happy in fact that I couldn’t help but hug you and Kathleen. When I told you I was going to place the ad along with my wedding photos with captions that reads: “Thank you Dr. Merli and your wonderful staff for giving me my smile and my self-confidence back!” in my wedding scrapbook you laughed, but I was serious. I know it’s you job, but you do it with patience, care and understanding and I appreciate that and I can’t wait to show you the pictures.”

“Most of us have heard the phrase “I would rather go to the dentist”, or “get a root canal” rather than endure some otherwise painful ordeal. Even though we laugh, we all know that it really isn’t all that funny. “This is to let you know that I have received your call regarding my new dentures. They are alright. They fit comfortably. But I have to learn to chew with them, talk with them and smile with them.
